THE FACTS:
In 1991 Lancer developed one of the few ceramic bracket manufacturing facilities to process and build Intrigue. Since then Intrigue has treated an estimated 55,000 patients. Now Lancer has improved both the contour and finishing processes to take intrigue to a new comfort level. INTRODUCING INTRIGUE SILK Intrigue Silk is made from polycrystalline cultured alumina which is purchased in raw form from General Electric, who developed the material for a variety of other medical and industrial uses. Unlike other materials, alumina allows for great strength and integrity in shape. Combined with a more simplified clinical design, Intrigue Silk offers a great choice in aesthetics for your patients. BONDING Intrigue Silk can be bonded with all methods. Lancer recommends The Cure LED light in order to gain the highest degree of color stability and early bond strength. The Base is both mechanical and treated with a chemical coupling agent to provide dual mechanical and chemical bond retention. POSITIONING Intrigue Silk is available with placement site tabs, which can properly orient the bracket to recommended heights, mesial & distal locations and proper angulations. All tabs are color coded for easy bracket identification and also serve as a measurement reference with 1 mm increments indicated on each tab. TREATMENT PROCEDURES Intrigue Silk is built to accommodate normal treatment forces. The pseudo-twin design gives the bracket a higher degree of strength than other clear brackets, which may be lacking in strength due to a more traditional tie wing design. The slot base is cut with rounded edges to reduce potential fracture points that other ceramic brackets may have more problems with. DEBONDING Predictability, comfort and minimal hassle. Intrigue Silk is designed to have superior de-bonding characteristics. The best instrument to use is the Stealth de-bonding instrument number 652-202. |
